Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced 3D CAD tools to develop and optimize vehicle harness designs, focusing on efficient wiring routings and innovative solutions.
- Perform static and dynamic simulations to analyze wire harness behavior, proactively identifying and addressing potential failure points to enhance durability and reliability.
- Work closely with EDS engineers to improve ECAD and MCAD processes, refining component databases and optimizing selection strategies for better performance.
- Build and test physical prototypes of wire harness designs using techniques such as 3D printing and manual assembly for concept validation and design refinement.
- Investigate new harness technologies for both prototype and production-ready designs, ensuring alignment with manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should be pursuing a B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or possess equivalent relevant education and experience.
- Support vehicle integration and testing through troubleshooting electrical test assets to validate the functionality of electrical designs.
- Engage in thorough testing and validation activities to ensure optimal system performance.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation and comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders, effectively resolving technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in systems development, vehicle electrical architecture, functional safety, and component integration.
- A genuine passion for mechanical integration within automotive electronics.
- Strong grasp of electrical engineering principles and their automotive applications.
- Familiarity with electrical and electro-mechanical devices, including networked microcontrollers and embedded software.
- Experience troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, and software domains.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A collaborative mindset, eager to work in a dynamic, high-performing team environment.
- A systems-oriented approach to design with a commitment to continuous improvement.
