As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will be instrumental in advancing AI, particularly in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI, to deliver transformative solutions for healthcare and enterprise clients.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with product managers to convert business needs into impactful AI projects.
- Partner with fellow technical leaders for the successful and timely delivery of models and service integrations.
- Collaborate with international teams to transition projects from research proof-of-concepts to full production.
- Innovate new healthcare and enterprise features using the latest advancements in generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning.
- Design and review AI solution architectures, focusing on data, model training, and best practices for evaluation.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to both junior and experienced applied scientists.
- Write production-ready code while championing excellent coding practices.
- Engage in project planning, review, and retrospectives.
- Identify and proactively mitigate risks that affect business and engineering outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated success in creating and deploying scalable AI models in production.
- Robust technical knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques, especially Transformers.
- Hands-on experience with contemporary LLM and generative AI technologies, including efficient fine-tuning methods.
- Familiarity with leading LLM frameworks and plugins.
- Proven ability in designing data collection and annotation solutions for production system support.
- A strong commitment to staying abreast of advancements in AI to effectively tackle complex business challenges.
- An impressive publication history in reputable journals or conferences.
- Experience in leading teams of scientists.
Preferred Qualifications
- A background in healthcare AI development.
- Knowledge of the latest computer vision and multimodal modeling advancements.
Education
- PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Linguistics, or a related field with a focus on Machine Learning or Deep Learning preferred; or
- Masters or Bachelor’s degree in a related area with 5+ years of relevant experience.
