Data Analyst/ Report Developer

General Description

With limited oversight, implements well-defined technical solutions. With knowledge of general programming languages, frameworks and deployment methodologies, creates data-based solutions from concept to finished product. Works in a collaborative environment to build and deploy effective and efficient products with well-tested code.

Principle Duties/Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, tests, deploys, and supports data-based solutions to ensure that systems meet product needs.
• Implement solutions using third party tools and custom enhancements/applications.
• Manages individual tasks and timelines under limited supervision.
• Seeks continuous quality improvements for supported systems.
• Assists in problem analysis and recommends solution options, while maintaining best practices.
• Provide technical and/or business application consultation to customers related to report development, data analysis, or underwriting improvement.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Master's degree

• LOMA Certification

• 3-5 years experience in software development/data analysis
• Experience with data applications, databases, data ingestion, and data analysis
• Strong communication skills, including ability to explain complex information to non-technical team members
• Ability to solve complex business problems, drawing upon technical and business experience
• Ability to adapt, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability
• Intermediate oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share knowledge
• Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
• Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects

• Basic negotiating and persuasion skills

• 5+ years experience in software engineering/data analysis
• Insurance and/or reinsurance industry knowledge
