In this position...

• The successful manufacturing software developer candidate will develop device-side code supporting hardware testing across two key responsibility areas.
• You will collaborate with both local and remote team members, as well as other Ford groups, gaining insights into product development, software architecture, and implementation.
• Using Design Thinking and User Experience practices, you will help deliver innovative products and services that exceed customer expectations.

You'll have...

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (Computer Science or Software Engineering degrees not applicable).
• 6+ months of experience with Hardware or Embedded Software systems (internships and coursework accepted).
• Development experience in C.
• Clear understanding of time-critical software development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Even better, you may have...

• Proven embedded software development experience with QNX and/or Linux.
• Experience in multi-threaded programming.
• Development experience with C++ and object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with object-oriented design principles and patterns.
• Knowledge of SPI, UART, I2C, Ethernet, or other networking protocols.
• Development experience with Python or other scripting languages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, time-critical environments.
• Motivation to work in a quality-driven, innovative setting.

This position is salary grade 2 and falls within salary grades GS5-GS6.
