We are revolutionizing enterprise AI products to facilitate intelligent data analysis at scale. With our strong background in data management and enterprise software, we are enhancing our platforms by integrating advanced agentic AI, generative AI, and innovative machine learning techniques. We are looking for a Senior Applied Scientist, preferably with a PhD, to spearhead innovations in AI agents for enterprise analytics, focusing on planning, multi-step reasoning, and executing tool-augmented solutions using large language models across unstructured data sources like documents, logs, and emails.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create comprehensive agentic systems: define goals, develop planners, controllers, and executors, and implement orchestration of tools for robust execution.
• Enhance planning and reasoning capabilities: utilize hierarchical planning, self-reflection techniques, and chain-of-thought strategies to improve reliability and accuracy.
• Ground large language models in unstructured data: develop retrieval mechanisms and indexing over diverse data formats.
• Prioritize safety, privacy, and compliance: implement safety policies, manage tool access, and ensure governance aligned with enterprise standards.
• Deploy agentic solutions: collaborate with platform teams, manage the lifecycle of agent workflows, and ensure rigorous evaluation of planning services.
• Stay updated on research advancements and mentor teammates, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and impactful innovation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields focusing on LLMs, planning, reasoning, or autonomous systems.
• Experience in building and deploying ML/LLM systems, specifically in agentic workflows at scale.
• Demonstrated expertise in multi-step planning and structured reasoning methods.
• Strong skills in data retrieval and processing of unstructured data.
• Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or JAX.
• Published work in top-tier conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, or equivalent impactful contributions in production environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in designing pipelines for agent evaluation and familiarity with feedback mechanisms.
• Knowledge of decision-making methods and statistical evaluation for online experiments.
• Understanding of efficiency in LLMs and related optimization techniques.
• Expertise in safety management and compliance strategies in AI.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate complexities to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with model registries, CI/CD for ML, and production observability.
