Job Summary
The Salesforce Software Engineering Director is a senior technical leadership role responsible for guiding the architecture, integration, and delivery of Salesforce CRM solutions across Ford Pro’s product ecosystem. This position combines deep expertise in Salesforce and MuleSoft with a collaborative leadership approach to drive platform consistency, technical excellence, and strategic alignment across product groups.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Architecture & Delivery
- Architect scalable, secure, and high-performing Salesforce CRM solutions aligned with standard practices and Common Engineering Policies (CEP), including API standards, logging protocols, and release management.
- Lead MuleSoft integration strategies connecting Salesforce with internal and external systems.
- Drive Agile product development using JIRA to manage backlogs, sprints, releases, and retrospectives.
- Validate and refine architecture through usability testing, performance testing, load testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Build consensus across Ford Pro product groups to align technical strategies and priorities.
- Facilitate decision-making related to architecture, team allocation, and product lifecycle transitions.
- Promote transparency and shared accountability through progress reporting tools and OKRs.
- Champion Community of Practice principles to maintain consistency in engineering and product management standards.
Financial & Resource Planning
- Support financial and headcount forecasting through structured internal planning processes.
- Align product investments with strategic priorities to ensure effective resource allocation.
- Participate in technical council reviews for budget approvals and lifecycle governance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 12+ years of experience with enterprise CRM platforms, including at least 7 years in Salesforce architecture and development.
- 3+ years of experience with MuleSoft integration and API-led connectivity.
- Expertise in Salesforce platforms (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud).
- Strong experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform including API design, RAML, connectors, and orchestration.
- Experience with RESTful API design, versioning, CI/CD pipelines, and release management (Copado preferred).
- Knowledge of logging and monitoring standards aligned with engineering policies.
- Cloud architecture validation, performance testing, and usability testing expertise.
- Proficiency with Git-based source control and repository management.
- Experience with JIRA, Microsoft Teams, and Miro.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Well-Architected Framework.
- Cloud platform experience such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar environments.
- Proven leadership experience guiding cross-functional teams in Agile environments.
- Strong understanding of financial acquisition and resource planning processes.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build alignment across diverse teams.

Additional Information
This position is remote unless residing within 50 miles of Dearborn, Michigan, in which case on-site presence up to four days per week may be required.
