Data Science plays a crucial role in Coinbase's products and decision-making processes. We collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to influence the product roadmap and deepen our understanding of users. Through our expertise in experimentation, analytics, and advanced modeling, we produce insights that drive our company's success.

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our Retail Trading Team. In this role, you will lead pricing experimentation and have a significant influence on our pricing strategy. Your responsibilities will include designing and analyzing tests, identifying opportunities to enhance user engagement and profitability, and effectively communicating your insights to executives and organizational leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish a clear pricing vision, roadmap, and priorities.
• Design and implement pricing models along with evaluation frameworks to determine optimal pricing strategies.
• Develop causal models to assess the effect of fee changes utilizing both experimental and observational data.
• Initiate and maintain data pipelines and models with exceptional attention to detail.
• Synthesize insights and recommendations clearly and concisely for presentation to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated alignment with our core cultural values: clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution.
• PhD preferred, or a Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, or a related field, with 5+ years of applicable experience.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in pricing experimentation, data analysis, and statistical modeling.
• Proficient in SQL, Python, R, or similar programming languages for data analysis and modeling.
• Ability to create project plans independently for complex analytics projects spanning multiple teams.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience applying causal inference techniques outside of controlled experiments.
• Experience in a Crypto-focused company or a crypto exchange.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position ranges from $180,370 to $212,200 USD. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity opportunities, and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
