About the Role:
The Embedded Systems Cybersecurity Engineer is essential for advancing security in product development. This role centers on pivotal areas like Next-Gen Network Architecture, Diagnostics, Autonomous Vehicles, and Offensive Security Analysis.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Assessing content across Ford's extensive product lines.
- Conducting compliance reviews of features, functions, platforms, and modules aligned with global cybersecurity standards, including ISO 21434 / R155.
- Integrating relevant cybersecurity requirements into the product design and development process, from ideation to testing, to ensure all project goals are achieved.
- Reviewing and approving supplier deliverables to ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
- Working in collaboration with content owners to address security considerations throughout the development life cycle.
- Designing features, components, and systems utilizing robust engineering practices such as threat analysis, risk assessments, and security audits.
- Utilizing global supplier expertise to fulfill cybersecurity expectations.
- Preparing and presenting risk assessments to management regarding any unresolved concerns.
- Supporting a reuse model in the Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) to enhance efficiency across vehicle programs.
Qualifications:
To excel in this position, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems, IoT, or product cybersecurity.
- Knowledge of cryptographic controls and their practical applications.
- Experience in security system engineering, development, and testing.
- Strong skills in creating and maintaining engineering documentation such as requirements, specifications, and test plans.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Outstanding communication and analytical abilities.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CISSP or Security+.
- Experience in managing vulnerability assessments.
- Familiarity with threat modeling using recognized industry standards like MITRE ATT&CK or STRIDE.
